FLAG BURNING

Disposal of (National) Flags

We recently found this out:

"When a flag becomes tattered and is no longer in a suitable condition for use, it should be destroyed in a dignified way by burning it privately."

We bought another flag for our flagpole in our backyard and disposed of the old flag by burning it. It felt somewhat strange to do it this way...but....we did! (I wonder how good it is for the environment?) :)

Hmmm . . . didn't it say "privately"??? Is posting pictures of a flag burning (on a blog that the whole world can view) really considered private??? You are so undignified! LOL!! :)
