FIELD DAY RESULTS

So.......Breanna did really well at Field Day! On Monday, she came running off the bus, waving her ribbon. She was all excited. When I asked her what she earned the ribbon for, she told me that she didn't remember. :)

This is a message from her teacher...

"Your 'little athlete' made the 1st place standard in both running long jump and in standing long jump. She also made 2nd place standard in ball throw and 3rd place standard in dashes."

FIELD DAY

Breanna's first Field Day, at her school, took place on Friday, May 23, 2008. She had a lot of fun and did her very best! I, unfortunately, did not make the dash, but she said that went well too. We're not sure if she won any ribbons. They will find that out at the assembly at school on Monday. Nevertheless, it was a fun day and the weather was perfect!

Here she was doing running long jump.
Ball throw
(Breanna's flag is the 3rd farthest)

Standing long jump

Breanna watching her friends doing ball throw.

Finally... had the much anticipated chocolate popcicle! Delicious!
Cassandra had a front row seat at all the events!
Zachary found some sand...go figure!!

I looked out into the field and this is what Zachary was doing. He loves picking dandelions! So cute!!

WEEKEND FUN

Last weekend, we were outside enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Breanna and Zachary have been spending a lot of time on the trampoline. Here are some pictures of the kids...

My parents came for a visit. Breanna had invited them for some cupcakes to "celebrate mommy and papa's anniversary". When they were leaving, Bryan pulled a tarp off some mulch he had covered and this adorable creature slithered out. My reaction was no surprise to me. "AHHHHHHHH" The snake went to our neighbour's house which I was totally fine with....but then came back to our place, which I was totally not fine with! I then left so Bryan could explore the snake with the kids, without me freaking out! They thought it was pretty cool and followed it around for awhile.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer

The weekend of June 21-22, 2008, my husband Bryan will be cycling from Toronto to Niagara Falls. It will be approximately 200 kms and will take 2 days to complete. He is now busy training with bike rides and runs. Please take a look at his website. He updates it regularly with his training.

MOTHER'S DAY

The kids woke me up on Sunday morning with 'breakfast in bed'. They had prepared a beautiful tray (with a little help from Bryan, I'm sure) with my favourite muffin (low fat cranberry orange), a tea, some grapes, raspberries and blueberries, and a flower to decorate the tray. I'm not actually sure how much I actually had for breakfast, because I've discovered that they like breakfast in bed too!

Along with the breakfast came cards with their 'signatures'.

I'm sure Cassandra was thrilled to hold a pencil crayon and not get it taken away from her!
I love the drawings from Zachary! I can just imagine the concentration while drawing our family!
Breanna made this for me at school. It's actually pretty accurate other than perhaps my height and my favourite food!

The class also put together a cookbook. Really cute....and quite funny! Some of the recipes were halarious!
Breanna loves to help out in the kitchen. It was not really that surprising to read her recipe.

I love it!!

This picture is not the best picture....but....I was given a magnolia bush/tree. I didn't take a picture on Mother's Day...which I should have, because it was in full bloom. (I'm new to this bloggin' thing!). Anyways, when it's actually planted in the right spot, I'll take a picture of it again. (Maybe next spring when it will look beautiful again...with it's pink blooms!!)

Thank you for another wonderful Mother's Day! I am soooo blessed to have you in my life. Each one of you is special and unique and I love you.

FUN IN THE MUD

A while back, there was a discussion about an upcoming 'mud run' in June. The thought was to practice in our field once the snow melted and it was nice and muddy. Well....the snow melted and we received lots of rain....so our field was in perfect condition to practice for the mud run.
On Sunday, May 4, Bryan, Breanna and Zachary took a walk into the field to check it out. At first it was a couple of steps with pants rolled up....and not too long after....it was a full blown mud run practice!
Lots of fun....lots of mud!!

Zachary....I think :)

This may be Breanna :)
Bryan

When I ran outside to take some pictures, Cassandra was playing nicely in the living room. While outside I heard her yelling at us and so I walked back into the house to find out she had found the perfect spot to watch the mud run! There she is on the table looking out the kitchen window.

TIME TO CLEAN UP!
