OUR BIG BOY

Our little man turned four today. Zachary was really looking forward to this day! He did inform me this morning that he is "no longer my little boy, he a big boy now". Oh man! How did that happen!!! Wasn't he just a baby?

Zachary is our little man. He is a gentle, compassionate boy. When someone is hurting, he feels sad and is always willing to give a hug to try and make it better. He is usually willing to go places and try things without a fuss. He is very active, loves riding his bike and doing some fancy stuff on the trampoline. He loves working outside with Papa. He is my cuddlepuss. Whenever he sees me sitting down, he comes and snuggles up with me. I hope that never stops!! :)

We love you Zachary! Happy 4th Birthday!

Breanna made Zachary a gift. It was a number four made out of pipe cleaners. :)
Zachary loved it!
He got a big boy bike from us.

We did have a party today (Sunday) to celebrate both Zachary and Cassandra's birthday. I will post more on this another day.

SHE'S TWO...ALREADY!

Today our baby turned two. Can hardly believe it!

We can't imagine life without her. She has found her place in our family. She can be super sweet by giving hugs and kisses to anyone she sees crying. She loves playing with baby dolls, feeds them and puts them to bed. She can be super loud, so she can be heard above everyone else. She sticks up for herself either by yelling, screaming or pointing her index finger at you, so she doesn't get pushed around. (We still find this quite funny...not sure for how long though :)) She has quite a sense of humour and likes to be in the middle of everything. Whatever anyone else can do....she should be able to do too, right?

Happy 2nd birthday, Cassandra! We love you!

Breanna made Cassandra a present. It was the number 2 made out of pipecleaners :)

Wasag*a Beach Duathalon

On Friday, September 5th, 2008, we all headed up to Wasag*a Beach again. Bryan participated in the Wasag*a Beach Duathalon on Saturday morning, bright and early. This duathalon consisted of a 5km run, 20km bike ride, and then a 2.5km run.

I forgot the memory card for our camera at home, so all these pictures are courtesy of Jerry and Sandy. (THANK YOU!) Due to the fact that Jerry took the pictures, there are more than the usual amount of pictures including me. Unfortunately there aren't any of Jerry. :(

THE CHEERING SECTION

5 KM MARK

15 KM MARK

We, unfortunately, missed Bryan running. It took quite a while to get into town, find a parking spot and walk over to where he was located. Here he is at the finish!

This was a favourite spot for the kids. FREE ICE-CREAM and POPCICLES!!!!

YUMMY!

We took the kids to the beach Saturday afternoon, but didn't stay too long. The wind was really cool at the beach, so the kids were wet and freezing!

Back at the cottage, the kids got nice and dirty in the backyard. At bedtime, all three were zonked after a day in the fresh air!

We had another great weekend with ours friends and the kids grand-neighbours. Breanna actually said she wanted to stay and live there!

FIRST DAYS OF SCHOOL

Tuesday, September 2, 2008 arrived! The first day of grade one for Breanna. Bryan had picked up breakfast to celebrate. Pancakes from Mc*Do*nalds!!! Yummmmy!
Breanna waiting for the bus.
Here it comes!
Coming off the bus, the first day of school. Breanna just turned before I was able to capture the HUGE smile on her face. She had an "AWESOME first day of school"!
Still smiling!
Tuesday, September 9, 2008 FINALLY arrived. After anticipating this for some time, Zachary was up at 7 am. He walked into my room and whispered "I go to school today, Mommy?" I said, "You sure do!" He gave me a hug and said "thank you, Mommy!" (Zachary goes to school Tuesday and Thursday mornings.)
His backpack, which he is pretty proud of!

On Zachary's first day of school, the weather was not so great. Cool and rainy. He didn't seem to mind though.
Here comes the bus!!!
On they go. Just as the bus pulled up, Zachary said "I don't want to do this." Nothing else was said and he followed Breanna on the bus and was fine! Mommy had the hard time!
Picking Zachary up on his first day. He was all smiles too! He loves school but most of all he loves taking the bus. He was not impressed that I picked him up and he didn't get to take the bus home!
Here he is, with his teacher, Mrs. T.
Both Breanna and Zachary love their teachers. Phew!!! Looking forward to a good school year.

LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKEND

SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 2008

On Sunday, we decided we wanted to get out and do something! So we went to Port D*lhousie. I had never been there and heard so much about it. So off we went. It was a beautiful, hot summer day. We first took a walk down the long pier. Everytime the kids saw a dog, they wanted to pet it. We finally agreed they could ask these people if they could pet their dog. They thought that was pretty great!

Next, we walked to the carousel.

How cool is that? It's still only 5 cents per ride.

Zachary and Breanna ended up switching seats because just before it started, Zachary wasn't too sure he wanted to be there! He was better once sitting beside Papa.
Cassandra has mastered the art of winking! Fits in perfectly with her personality! :)
There is also a great park for the kids to play at.

Breanna could only spin around a couple of time, because then her "stomach was not feeling very good".
Later in the afternoon, when it had cooled down a bit, we took a walk at the beach. First everyone was really careful not to get too wet.

But as you see, that didn't last too long! Luckily, I had brought extra clothes for the kids.

Back at the van, as we were trying to dry off the kids, a van slowed down...wanting our spot (because it was so busy there). It ended up being my cousin Melanie and her family and my Aunt Nel. So we stayed and chatted with them for a bit.

After we had grabbed a bite to eat for supper, we decided we would visit my Oma (who now lives in a nursing home out that way). We told her our news. We didn't stay too long. Although she brought some toys with her to the nursing home to keep the great grandchildren busy while they visited her, it was late and the kids were a bit rambunctios.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2008

It was another hot summer day so we decided to take the kids to the park in town. It's a nice park with a splash pad and a great playground.

It was a great weekend! Lot's of memories.
